1. Who we are

SmartSubMetrics.com ("SmartSubMetrics," "we," "us") publishes independent comparisons of subscription-management, budgeting, and cashback apps for readers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. This policy covers the smartsubmetrics.com website only — it does not cover the privacy practices of the third-party apps we review or link to.

2. Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to read this site. The data we do collect comes from two sources:

• Automatically collected data: standard technical information such as your approximate location (country/region, derived from IP address), browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and general usage patterns (for example, which comparison table or link you interact with).
• Information you provide directly: if you email us at hello@smartsubmetrics.com, we receive whatever information you include in that message.

3. Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are read, which regional comparison tables get used, and which outbound links are clicked. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information and processes it under Google's own privacy policy. We use aggregated Analytics data (for example, "how many US visitors viewed the comparison table this month") and do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's cookie and tracking-protection settings.

4. Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics (see above) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell data. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so will not prevent you from reading this site, though it may affect how our analytics record your visit.

5. Affiliate & outbound links

Many pages on this site link to third-party apps we review. Some of these are affiliate links — see our Affiliate Disclosure for how that works. When you click an outbound link, you leave smartsubmetrics.com and become subject to that third party's own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, and clicking a link may allow the destination site or our affiliate network partner (for example, Impact) to record that the click came from SmartSubMetrics, consistent with standard affiliate-tracking practice.

6. How we use information

We use the data described above to: operate and improve this site; understand which regional content and comparisons are useful to readers; measure which outbound partner links perform, for our own reporting; and respond to emails sent to us directly. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to respond to and, where relevant, follow up on your inquiry.

8. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you (for example, under state privacy laws in the US or Canada's PIPEDA). Because we collect very limited personal information — mainly aggregated, non-identifying analytics — most requests can be resolved simply by opting out of Analytics tracking as described in Section 3. 9. Children's privacy

SmartSubMetrics is intended for adults researching financial apps and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our site or practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
